May Message from Navajo County Chair
Exciting news this month!
We have a full slate of Candidates for Legislative District 5. Now we have Elaine Bohlmeyer as our candidate for Senate and Bill Shumway and Pres Winslow as our candidates for the House.
Our two offices (LCRD ‘s in Winslow & WMD’s in Lakeside) open this month, and the State Party is hiring Luther Lee as our Native American Outreach Director again!
All three offices will have voter registration and Permanent Early Voting List (PEVLs) materials as well as candidate petitions, contribution forms, and campaign materials.
LCRD’s office is located at 206 E 2nd Street, Winslow. Its Grand Opening will be on May 1st 11:00-4:00. LCRD will also have open houses the following two Saturdays—May 8th and May 15th—11:00-4:00. LCRD’s office phone number is (928) 289-6639.
WMD’s office is located at 1621 W White Mountain Blvd, Suite 3, Pinetop/Lakeside. The office is part of David Martin’s office complex and is next to the Lakeside Tire Factory and the car wash. WMD will have its Grand Opening on May 15th 1:00-5:00. WMD’s office phone number is (928) 368-3243.
Luther will have access to email at lutherhlee@yahoo.com. He will be attending many events on the Navajo Nation to register voters & PEVLs, talk about the importance of voting in state-wide elections, and educate voters on the candidates and issues.
Finally, we will have our NCDC County Meeting on Saturday, May 22, 11:00-2:00 at Licano’s Mexican Food & Steak House at 573 W Deuce of Clubs in Show Low. Lunch will be no host. Agendas have been sent, but the major topics of discussion are:
1. Coordinating our LCRD & WMD fundraisers, which will be on Saturday, August 7th, and Sunday, August 8th, respectively.
2. Equipment for our offices.
This is a busy month with many events on our calendar. We hope you will join us for as many as you can.
